and create

slow down

At the Hundredth Hill, we believe that art is the answer, and that art needs space and resources to move from idea to form. Our response has been the creation of a private, non-profit artist retreat to assist both established and emerging artists in bringing their visions to life.

Set on 50 acres of pristine woodlands and trails in Bloomington, Indiana, The Hundredth Hill is home to all manner of wildlife, butterflies, mushrooms, and river beds for artists to experience and garner inspiration. The property features four private guest residences, beautifully built in an inspired amalgam of original design, recycled and upcycled materials, and harvested from our extensive acreage. In addition, we house a professional recording studio, an open air barn, and an outdoor stage. We encourage sustainable practices, and are geothermally heated and cooled, enroute to solar and wind-powered additions.

The Hundredth Hill's rolling green woodlands and unique creative spaces have drawn artists from across genres and borders to find inspiration and focus. If you're looking for a weekend, week-long, or even month-long retreat in one of our spaces, drop us a line. You may qualify for one of our funded or sponsored artist residencies.

Otherwise, we offer affordable rates for you or someone for whom you'd love to give the gift of retreat, as well as offering bookings for organizations looking for retreat, day-use, and workshop space. Our mission is to support creativity in all its forms, and by doing so can we can contribute to our local, regional, and world community. We can't wait to meet you!

Without adequate national funding for arts development, the responsibility for fostering artists and their artforms falls to arts supporters and arts communities. The mission of the Hundredth Hill is to do just that, and by supporting us, you can help keep artists creating and innovating for the benefit of us all.
